Japanese Ink on Paper Painting

Description: Fine example of Shodou or Zen Calligraphy showing a very bold and fluid technique. Artist could not be identified by signature and seal. The kanji character reads "kei" which means wisdom, as opposed to phenomenal knowledge (Praj~na according to Buddhism). Exact age unknown but condition suggests early Showa.

Roller is black hollow lacquer. Overall fine condition. Mounting shows very minor signs of prior repair.
