5056 - CHINESE EMBROIDERED RANK BADGES

Fine pair of Chinese Mandarin squares of wild goose. Decoration includes some of Eight Buddhist Symbols, all above lishui stripes. Fine condition. Late 19th or early 20th century. Insignia badges were worn by Manchu civil and military officials on the front and back of their ceremonial garments with symbols that comprise the Twelve Ornaments.
