Chinese Gilt Wood Lion

Description: Large and intricately carved gilt and lacquered wood sculpture in the round of Chinese mythological lion together with a pair of cubs, and resting on rectangular plinth. Dating from the 19th century of China's Qing dynasty. Workmanship and style associated with Daoguang period (1821 - 1850). One cub has old repair to the neck.
