2000 - Pair of Chinese Porcelain Jars

Pair of very handsome and well painted famille rose porcelain jars, decorated with a pair of mocking birds on decorative rock, together with large chrysanthemum, flowering cherry branch, poppies and butterflies, all in between cloud collar and lappet borders. Base of one jar with six character cursive script Kangxi mark within double circle, base of other jar with double circle. Probably 19th century. Both stands and lids finely carved with shou and eternal knot motifs.

Measurements: H 9", W at widest point 8 1/2". Stand: H 2 3/4".
