- Japanese Ink On Paper Scroll Painting
A
fine example of a shoudou or Zen calligraphy, showing
a very bold and fluid technique. Artist could not be
identified by signature and seal. The kanji character
reads "kei" which means wisdom, as opposed
to phenomenal knowledge (pra-naa according to Buddhism).
Condition suggests early Showa. Roller is black hollow
lacquer. Mountings show minor signs of prior repair.
53 inches x 24 inches.
Price:
$ 445.
